APORT in Karaganda

In the Karaganda region, a fruit storage facility with a design capacity of up to 1,300 tons is successfully operating for long-term storage and sale of fruits in the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.

The project of APORT KZ LLP in the amount of 259.6 million tenge was financed by Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC within the framework of the Agroexport lending program and was put into operation in December 2017. Last year, the fruit storage facility was loaded with 722 tons of apples of the following varieties: Aport, Golden Delicious, Zvezdochka. To date, all products have been sold in supermarkets in the Karaganda region.

According to specialists from APORT KZ LLP, thanks to modern storage technologies and the possibility of long-term storage of the harvest, next year the farm plans to store up to 1000 tons of apples, pears and grapes.

According to experts, modern storage facilities for agricultural products cover the needs of the domestic market by a maximum of 15%. The lack of the required amount of storage among agricultural enterprises leads to a shortage of quality vegetables and fruits in the spring. There is an urgent need for high-tech storage facilities for these product groups. In order to help improve the competitiveness of Kazakh agricultural producers, as well as increase production and exports of products, the Agrarian Credit Corporation has been implementing the AgroExport program since the end of 2016. Preferential financing is provided for the creation and development of intensive apple orchards, the construction of fruit storage and processing plants, as well as related industries in the southern regions.
