The President noted the growth rates in agriculture.

Today, under the chairmanship of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, an extended Government meeting was held. The meeting summarized the results of the country's socio-economic development in 2024 and outlined key tasks for the upcoming period. During the session, the President emphasized that agriculture leads in growth rates among other sectors of the economy, made possible by a significant increase in preferential lending for spring sowing activities.

"Last year, agriculture led the way in growth rates among all other sectors of the economy. This was achieved thanks to a substantial increase in preferential lending for spring sowing operations. This year, at least 700 billion tenge must be allocated for this purpose. Affordable loans should be provided to livestock breeders and agricultural product processors. I have already highlighted the need to shift from unproductive subsidies to the expansion of preferential lending. This task must be accomplished. Last year, our farmers harvested a good crop, but grain prices dropped significantly. To support farmers and stabilize the domestic market, the Food Corporation's tools were utilized. However, this is a temporary solution. We need to continue transitioning to the cultivation of more profitable crops. It is also necessary to expand capacities for storage and deep processing of raw materials, as well as to support export sales in foreign markets," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.
