Three greenhouses - in three years

Batyr Darmenov moved from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan 16 years ago. He settled in the Karaganda region and at first was engaged in the sale of vegetables: he bought cucumbers from suppliers from the southern regions, and together with his wife he sold products on the market in the regional center. Over time, the idea came up to grow vegetables on their own.

Having collected the necessary capital, Batyr Kaldeevich began to implement his business idea. In 2018, with funding from the Agrarian Credit Corporation, he received a loan from a local credit partnership and installed two heating boilers and a drip irrigation system in the greenhouse. So in the village of Trudovoe, Bukhar-Zhyrau district, a greenhouse for 50 acres appeared, which began to supply its products to Karaganda residents.

Plans began to take real shape and make a profit. And in 2020, the grower began the construction of a second greenhouse for 96 acres. At his own expense, he built a frame from profile pipes, purchased 6 boilers. Another loan received from CT "Beybarys" went to the purchase of cellular polycarbonate, necessary to cover the greenhouse. Sheets of cellular polycarbonate scatter sunlight and reliably protect plants from the adverse effects of ultraviolet radiation. In addition, they are durable, flexible, fire resistant and retain heat well. All this makes the material indispensable in the construction of greenhouses.

Darmenov's farm is located near Karaganda, which reduces transportation costs.

- We settled on seedlings of the Tantu variety. We plant seedlings twice a year, we harvest 8-9 months a year, - says the head of Nur Agro IE Batyr Darmenov. – We sell cucumbers in bulk, the sale goes on the Shygys market. We grow seedlings ourselves, in a separate block. Racks with hydroponic installations are installed here, the necessary microclimate is maintained.

Last year, the entrepreneur attracted another loan from the Agrarian Credit Corporation to complete the construction of the third greenhouse, which began its work in December 2021.
