Kazakhstan ranks 6th in the world in terms of the number of horses. The number of these domestic animals in the country exceeds 3.1 million heads. But statistical data is constantly changing, which is associated with the development of domestic horse breeding. Tilek Baytoganuly, who lives in the Kazalinsky district of the Kyzylorda region, has been breeding horses for many years. In 2004, the farmer founded the Asan Tilek farm in the village of Zhankozha Batyr and at first kept cows. But realizing that it was more profitable to keep horses, he turned to state support. “In 2021, I applied for a preferential loan at the Kyzylorda branch of the Agrarian Credit Corporation. I bought 60 mares, some of them foaled this year. Why horses? Because both in winter and summer they can be grazed. The production of horse meat is more profitable precisely for these reasons. We specialize in meat; we do not produce kumiss. We have our own equipment, land, and have prepared food for the winter. To do this, we rented an additional 500 hectares of land,” says Tilek Baytoganuly. By his first profession, the owner of the farm is an animal engineer, and by his second profession, he is a biology teacher. There is a hired worker to look after the animals. Foaled mares are kept in a special pen. By the way, the first young animals are planned to be sold this year. Today the market price of one young horse is at least 250 thousand tenge. Therefore, the farmer is reducing the number of cattle and increasing the herd. JSC "Agrarian Credit Corporation" is a subsidiary of the National Management Holding "Baiterek". Since 2001, it has been providing preferential loans for the development of agribusiness. You can view the loan terms and contact details of branches on the website agrocredit.kz.
