A meeting of the department’s board chaired by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov was held in Astana

A meeting of the department’s board chaired by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov was held in Astana. The meeting was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek National Holding JSC Nurbolat Aidapkelov, Chairman of the Board of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC Almat Ashirbekov. In turn, the Chairman of the Corporation reported on the results of activities in 2023 and plans for this year.

The main share of financing for the agro-industrial complex comes from the Agrarian Credit Corporation and KazAgroFinance. Last year, the volume of financing amounted to 555 billion tenge and reached its highest level. In total, last year the Corporation financed 16,181 agricultural producers and entrepreneurs in the amount of 376 billion tenge.

“Last year, under the Ken Dala program, we financed 3,796 agricultural enterprises covering 3.5 million hectares of cultivated area. At the same time, the share of SMEs in terms of financing amounted to 99%. In addition, we helped farmers who faced negative climatic conditions by extending their payment terms. To date, taking into account the subsidiary company KazAgroFinance, payments to farmers have been extended in the amount of 56 billion tenge,” said Almat Ashirbekov.

Separately, the Chairman of the Corporation focused on digitalization, noting that last year the company’s team of IT specialists developed and launched a mobile application that allows farmers to apply for microcredit financing, receive the necessary information and certificates online during the post-credit service period. This year it is planned to further develop the application services and improve the BPM system so that clients have the opportunity to conclude contracts online.

“We will also continue to work to increase funding for the sector. If the decision is positive, it is planned to allocate additional budget funds for investment projects,” he added.

This year, the Agricultural Credit Corporation will continue to develop its activities to provide affordable financing to farmers.
