Preferential lending for livestock farming has begun in Kazakhstan.

JSC Agrarian Credit Corporation (ACC), a subsidiary of the National Investment Holding Baiterek, announces the launch of a new program to support the agro-industrial complex, "Agribusiness Livestock," adopted as part of the Comprehensive Livestock Development Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2026-2030.

This initiative was launched on the direct orders of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with the aim of systematically addressing issues related to food security and qualitatively renewing the breeding stock.

The development of livestock farming in Kazakhstan has enormous, untapped potential, which could transform the industry into a powerful driver of the national economy. Today, this sector accounts for approximately 40% of the country's gross agricultural output.

To build a solid foundation for the development of domestic livestock farming and establish a sustainable base within the industry, this program will focus primarily on supporting farms engaged in breeding livestock.

Thus, to ensure domestic farmers' access to government support measures, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has established the most favorable basic lending terms:

  • fixed preferential rate of 6% per annum;
  • flexible loan terms, taking into account the specifics of livestock farming sectors and allowing farmers to comfortably plan their investment cycle and herd reproduction;
  • intended purpose – purchase of breeding stock.

Financing will be available through direct lending at ACC branches, as well as through credit unions (KT) and second-tier banks (STB).

The launch of the "Agribusiness Livestock" program is a logical continuation of the systemic support for farmers initiated by the "Ken Dala" program (financing spring sowing and harvesting work), as well as the program for financing domestic processing enterprises, and will provide Kazakhstani livestock breeders with affordable financing for the high-quality development of the industry.
