Harvest season: 76 billion tenge allocated by the state for field and harvesting work

Autumn is a busy time for farmers throughout the country. Here every day counts and it is important to harvest on time. In 2021, Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC (ACC), a subsidiary of Baiterek National Management Holding JSC, financed peasants for spring field and harvesting work in the amount of more than 76 billion tenge.

The use of preferential lending instruments allows farmers to develop their business and expand opportunities. For example, the company “QUNDYZDY AGRO” received a loan from the Agricultural Credit Corporation in the amount of more than 1.25 billion tenge. The company is located in the Karaganda region and has been engaged in crop production and horse breeding for two years. Wheat, oats, barley are grown in the fields, and this year they have mastered a new direction - potatoes. The development of the enterprise is directly related to the financial support provided by ACC.

The purchased irrigation equipment and equipment for growing potatoes helps you successfully master a new direction. In the summer, the price of this socially significant product caused a stir in society. The new harvest has significantly contributed to stabilizing the situation. QUNDYZDY AGRO LLP understands that it is not enough to grow products, it is also necessary to preserve them for a long time. To solve this problem, a modern vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 3,000 tons is being built on the territory of the enterprise using advanced European technologies.

– Tolegen Serikkalievich, tell us how you built a modern vegetable storage facility in such a short period?

Tolegen Adilbekov, Managing Director of QUNDYZDY AGRO LLP :

– The vegetable storage project began to be designed at the beginning of 2021. Construction began in June, and the fully finished facility will be handed over in November. Here, as you can see, there are four compartments with a total capacity of up to three thousand tons. Since this is a vegetable storage facility, we can store vegetables here until the off-season - March, April.

An air conditioning system is installed here. It is this that allows air flows to pass both above and below. A certain temperature and humidity are maintained. We can monitor the performance of all devices remotely, even from a phone. And the most important thing is to manage these indicators. Thanks to this, the potatoes will be stored for a long time and in high-quality conditions. It won't spoil.

“This year was very poor in precipitation and the dry summer only aggravated the situation. How did you deal with the watering problem? Has your crop been damaged due to climatic conditions?

Tolegen Adilbekov, Managing Director of QUNDYZDY AGRO LLP :

“We used the loan funds to purchase a sprinkler irrigation system. Construction began in November 2020, and was put into operation in June 2021. Water is supplied from a nearby river. We laid pipes, brought light to this area, bought special equipment - modern sprinklers that provide fine sprinkling with low rain intensity and do not have a negative impact on the soil cover. They water large areas automatically.

Now we are not dependent on the weather. This is very convenient for us. This summer was dry; if we had not watered our own, we would have definitely lost part of the harvest. Now our total arable area is 227 hectares. Potatoes of the Gala variety were planted on 75 hectares and barley on 151 hectares.

The introduction of modern irrigation technologies has had a positive impact on the productivity of the enterprise.

– Previously, only 4-5 quintals of grain were collected per hectare. And in 2018, when we opened, we collected 12 quintals, the next year – 18 quintals,” said Tolegen Adilbekov.

Rural financing certainly has a multiplier effect. Enterprises create jobs, introduce new technologies, and contribute to the development of infrastructure.

As local residents say, with the arrival of the QUNDYZDY AGRO company, life in Shunkyrkol has changed for the better since 2018. The long-standing and acute problem of the village road has been resolved. Due to the lack of high-quality road surfaces, city buses simply refused to enter the village. Now 7 kilometers of roadway have been rebuilt in the village, and now buses enter the village. Cellular towers have been installed for high-quality mobile Internet and communications.

The company provides social support to the population. They help those in need with food baskets and help buy school supplies for children. By the way, the school was also put in order and repaired. Before the pandemic, we organized holiday concerts for the elderly and veterans. In addition, villagers have the opportunity to purchase hay and feed waste at cost. And this greatly saves families’ budgets.

At the moment, the country's agricultural producers have used the services of the Agricultural Credit Corporation for a total amount of more than 175 billion tenge. The purpose of loans is different - from replenishing working capital to the construction of modern agro-industrial complexes.

Baurzhan Baimukash, director of the branch of the agricultural credit corporation in the Karaganda region :

– The Agricultural Credit Corporation promotes the development of agribusiness. Thanks to this, jobs are appearing in the villages, equipment is being updated and modern technologies are coming. For example, 49 people are permanently employed at this enterprise.

QUNDYZDY AGRO LLP has been operating in the Osakarovsky district since 2018. At the Agrarian Credit Corporation, the enterprise received loans under several programs, including through funding instruments of credit partnerships. Thanks to this, farmers purchased equipment and built a grain storage facility.

– Already in 2020, the company applied for additional financing because they decided to expand their activities and engage in potato production. The total cost of the project is about 1.25 billion tenge. This amount must be returned to the state within 10 years.

The money was allocated for two projects - the construction of an irrigation system and the purchase of necessary equipment. The second is the construction of a vegetable storage facility. Thanks to loans, at a favorable interest rate and for a long term, QUNDYZDY AGRO LLP acquired modern European equipment and machinery.

– What areas of agriculture are now gaining popularity in the Karaganda region and are actively developing among farmers?

Baurzhan Baimukash, director of the branch of the agricultural credit corporation in the Karaganda region :

– The Agrarian Credit Corporation currently finances various areas of the agricultural industry – from livestock farming to crop production, the construction of dairy farms, vegetable storage facilities, intensive gardens, and the purchase of livestock. In the Karaganda region, crop production and livestock farming are now actively developing.

Let us remind you that the development of production facilities is one of the priority areas in the activities of the Agrarian Credit Corporation. In total, ACC plans to finance the country's farmers in 2021 for a total amount of 251.9 billion tenge.
