Another ACC project was opened

On August 31, 2019, the opening of a unique project financed by Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC took place. Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Omarov S.K. together with the akim of the Almaty region Batalov A.G. and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Majdid Samadzade Saber, the Consul of Iran and Almaty Hamidrez Arshad opened a modern meat processing complex Empire Food in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region.

The volume of investments in the project of the Iranian businessman is 3.2 billion tenge. Construction of the complex began in September 2016, the area of the meat processing plant is 6900 sq.m. The number of jobs created is 98 people.

Meat processing plant capacity: 1000 heads of sheep and 120 heads of cattle per shift. The capacity of the deboning shop is 20 tons. An offal processing line corresponding to the slaughter volume has been installed. A canning line for 12 thousand cans is also being put into operation. A plant for bone and blood meal with a capacity of 14 tons will also begin operations.

In test mode after completion of construction, 332 tons of meat and meat products were produced using the installed equipment. 73 tons of products worth $452 thousand were exported to Iran and the Persian Gulf countries.

By the end of the year it is planned to export 640 tons. There are intentions to begin exporting meat to China, for which the enterprise is included in the list of enterprises for the expected autumn inspection of enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan by inspectors of the State Technical University of the People's Republic of China.

Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Omarov S.K. emphasized the importance of opening this investment project as part of the implementation of Elbasy’s instructions to increase labor productivity and exports of processed agricultural products by 2.5 times.

In the work of the ministry and the regions, it is especially important to attract foreign direct investment and create joint ventures in the field of agriculture on a mutually beneficial basis.

The day before yesterday, the 2nd session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Organization for Food Security took place in Saudi Arabia, where the Minister of Agriculture, as Chairman of the second session of the General Assembly of the IFSS, announced initiatives to create a grain fund and develop an investment fund through the creation of an association of processors.

The idea of creating funds is to develop the level of production of basic types of food (grain, flour, meat, etc.) by member countries of the IOFS to provide the countries of the organization’s members. Such IOPB member countries as KSA, UAE, and other countries of the golden six (Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar) are interested in investing in the processing sector of Kazakhstan, understanding the huge potential of our country for the production and processing of agricultural products, export of Kazakhstani environmentally friendly products to growing markets consumption (China, Russia, Muslim countries).

The Government of Kazakhstan, in turn, is interested and ready to provide full support to foreign investors who intend to promote Kazakh agricultural products and their processed products under their brands to priority export markets, investors who will attract modern technologies in the processes of production, management and marketing.

And the opening today of the modern Empire Food meat processing plant with the attraction of Iranian investments and the use of foreign meat processing technologies became possible thanks to the support provided by the Government of Kazakhstan in the implementation of investment projects in the processing industry. Thus, within the framework of the Business Road Map, the Akimat of the Almaty region helped in providing all the necessary infrastructure for the new meat processing plant

In order to attract investment in the agro-industrial complex of the republic, both foreign and domestic, work is underway to create appropriate conditions to support entrepreneurship: subsidizing priority areas, providing preferential loans and leasing, special tax regimes for agricultural entities.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Omarov noted that we now must diversify production, develop processing, introduce new technologies, and use scientific achievements.

Livestock products, especially meat and meat products, are the most promising types of products from the point of view of export growth, for which Kazakhstan can significantly increase production volumes, using vast pasture spaces, and develop meat processing to produce products for the domestic market and export.

That is why the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the regions, pays special attention to the implementation of the program for the development of beef cattle breeding, the basis of which is small farms in the form of family farms and the program will be built in the form of anchor cooperation, from farms for raising cattle, industrial feedlots and modern meat processing complexes .

The opening of a meat processing complex with waste-free production on a full cycle in accordance with international standards in the Almaty region will give impetus to the development of production and further export of meat products
