In the north of Kazakhstan, Poltavskoye LLP is known as one of the prosperous ones not only in the region, but also in the region. Entrepreneurs not only provided the villagers with work, but also created a decent standard of living for the residents. Eltai Zikirin headed Poltavskoye LLP in the 90s. The local council of elders nominated a young agronomist from the state farm to this position. “It was difficult to start from scratch, but we couldn’t give up, because my father was entrusted with the fate of the village. It was then that government support came in handy. If it weren’t for preferential loans, we wouldn’t have risen like this. We bought livestock, equipment, and took money for working capital. They weren’t afraid and believed in their strength,” says Erlan Zikirin, deputy director of Poltavskoye LLP. In 2014, under the Sybaga program through the Agrarian Credit Corporation, the partnership purchased 400 head of cattle. This made it possible to provide the villagers with work all year round. Now there are about 1000 cows on the farm. About 3.5 tons of milk are collected here per day. Entrepreneurs spare no expense on rural development. Over the past three years alone, the partnership has allocated more than 750 million tenge for major street repairs, tree planting and housing construction. This year, a modern kindergarten with heated floors and a ventilation system was built in the village. “Many villages are now in decline, they don’t pay wages, but that’s not the case here. Look, all our livestock complexes have survived, not one has been destroyed. On the contrary, new ones have been built. People come to us, the roads are good. We get paid on time, even 13th. In the city you can’t earn as much as here. We’re lucky, I’ll never leave here,” says Dulat Suleimenov, foreman of Poltavskoye LLP. The company supports village pensioners with social packages and helps them with repairs. Free meals are provided for schoolchildren, and last year Poltava residents got their own cinema. People even come from neighboring villages to watch films. “This year we received a loan from the Agrarian Credit Corporation for 400 million tenge, in 2023 we will again use government funding - we plan to take 600 million tenge for the purchase of new equipment,” said Erlan Zikirin. JSC "Agrarian Credit Corporation" is a subsidiary of the national management holding "Baiterek". Since 2001, it has been providing preferential loans on favorable terms for the development of agribusiness.
