Drought crop insurance deadline for the 2026 season extended to the end of April
The application period for insuring spring crops against moisture deficit has been officially extended to 30 April 2026 inclusive. This decision opens up additional opportunities for farmers in eleven regions of the country: Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions, as well as Abai and Ulytau regions.
Agricultural producers can insure grain and oilseed crops by choosing the most suitable form of protection. For grain crops, three-phase insurance provides cover from 15 May to 15 August, and two-phase insurance from 15 June to 15 August. For oilseed crops, the protection periods are set from 15 June to 14 September under the three-phase programme and from 15 July to 14 September 2026 under the two-phase programme.
The state continues to provide substantial support to programme participants by subsidising 80% of the cost of the insurance policy. The Agrarian Credit Corporation acts as the operator of these payments, which makes the insurance mechanism accessible to a wide range of farms.
Applications are submitted remotely via the dedicated Kezekte.kz portal. Timely conclusion of an insurance contract allows farmers to minimise financial risks associated with adverse weather conditions during key phases of plant vegetation.
