Supporting the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC transferred one-day earnings to needy farmers and private farms in the Mangistau region. At the beginning of summer, due to weather and ineffective forecasting, a particularly difficult situation developed in the Mangystau and Kyzylorda regions. In the Mangistau region alone, according to official data, the number of dead livestock reached three thousand. According to the acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbol Karashukeev, today the situation has stabilized, a lot of work is underway to procure feed and help the victims. Farmers from regions affected by drought and feed shortages who have a loan from the Agricultural Credit Corporation can apply for a deferment on payments by providing a minimum package of documents: applications for loan extension/restructuring; written acts or other documents of authorized government bodies confirming the occurrence of force majeure circumstances. Each application is reviewed as quickly as possible. To date, 10 farmers have applied for deferred payments, six of whom have had their applications approved as of today. In the Mangystau region, the application of the Kishkenekum peasant farm has already been approved; payment of payments has been suspended until May 2022. The head of the farm, Abutalip Abishev, has been farming since 2012; in 2019, he took out a loan from ACC under the Sybaga program to purchase 800 head of small cattle. The farm is engaged in breeding small cattle and horses. According to the farmer, at the beginning of summer, due to drought, he lost 50 head of livestock, and there was a catastrophic shortage of feed. “The help came on time,” says Abutalip Abishev, “feed is being supplied, the situation is gradually improving. The ACC loan was given a deferment, which also significantly eases our situation.” Applications are still being accepted; for all questions regarding the provision of a deferment for clients of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC, a toll-free hotline is available at 5115.
