Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC reports on the results of insurance in the livestock sector for the first nine months of 2025. Within the framework of the voluntary agricultural insurance system, farmers can insure their livestock (cattle, small ruminants, horses, and pigs) and poultry across Kazakhstan. Under this program, 80% of the insurance policy cost is covered by the state, while the remaining 20% is paid by farmers themselves. The insurance products are multi-risk, meaning they cover various types of risks, including: infectious and particularly dangerous animal diseases; fires and natural disasters; malicious acts of third parties; accidents such as explosions, lightning strikes, suffocation, attacks by wild animals, snake or insect bites, as well as fatal traumatic injuries. As of the results of the first nine months of 2025, 21,000 livestock and 2.6 million poultry were insured under these products. The total value of 126 insurance contracts amounted to approximately 272 million tenge, of which 80% (217.4 million tenge) were subsidized by the state and 20% (54.6 million tenge) were paid by farmers. As a result of insured events — such as accidents, infectious diseases (including brucellosis and embryonic infection), and natural phenomena (e.g., lightning strikes) — insurance companies paid out over 42 million tenge in compensation.
